Enclosed Fly-Bridge Cruiser
This attractive custom built Don Senior sports cruiser is powered by twin Yanmar 370hp diesels giving a sparkling cruising speed of 18-22 knots with a top speed of around 28 knots. Her fastidious one and only owner is a diesel mechanic by trade and has ensured the maintenance has been kept to a high standard too.
The teak decks have recently been re-caulked and sanded and special features like the built-in stairs to the flybridge and the basin and freezer in the cockpit plus a game chair and bait tanks and recently replaced covers are well set up for typical kiwi boating needs where a lot of time is spend in the cockpit.
he interior is well thought out and traditional teak with navy leather with white lacquer and off-white panelled headliners fit in well with the natural colours in the carpets to give a clean, crisp light and airy feel to the accommodations.
The galley is in the starboard aft corner of the saloon well positioned to serve the saloon, cockpit and fly-bridge areas alike with two fridges and a stove and oven built in. The cabinetry is mostly solid teak hand-crafted. The accommodations are amply provided for with four berths forward with the bottom two converting to a double as shown here. The owner’s stateroom is a fore and aft double to port with additional settee berth in the saloon and fly bridge so a total of up to 9 people can be accommodated.
The lacquered bathroom has a separate shower at one end with good ventilation from an overhead hatch. The fly bridge has been done well with a good looking hardtop which isn’t easy to achieve on boats under 50 feet, and it’s set up with everything from a diesel Webasto heater to de-mist the windows and keep you warm. Wipers have been added for clearer vision and the aft helm.
With the covered stairway to the bridge and these creature comforts this area becomes a great lounge for socialising and effectively gives you another room. The teak decks have recently been re-caulked with black Sikaflex and sanded and look like new again. Covers have also recently been replaced with clear side panels and zip up sections.
