Introducing Don Salthouse
- One of New Zealands most successful and experienced marine
brokers with more than 25 years in brokerage.
- He grew up in one of New Zealands best known boating and
boat building families and spent much of his youth building and racing yachts.
- By the age of 17 he had won an international boat design
competition, and represented NZ in teams racing.
- Established his own brokerage operation at Westhaven in
the early 1980's and was appointed founding chairman of the Boating Industries
Association's Brokers Division.
- In 1993, Don sold his brokerage business to concentrate
on new boat sales for the family boatbuilding company Salthouse Corsairs Ltd,
now the Salthouse Marine Group.

During
the last 25 years Don has sold hundreds of boats, including 25 out of the first
30 Sovereigns built, establishing key export markets.
- In March 2000, Salthouse Marine Group was awarded "Exporter
of the Year" and was one of 3 finalists in the "Business of the Year"
category at the Waitakere City Business Enterprise Awards.
- In April 2000 Don was approached by one of NZ's leading
real estate companies Bayleys, to manage Bayleys Marine Brokers, marketing some
of NZ's finest yachts and motor yachts internationally.
- The Salthouse Network. Don is a member of one of New Zealand's
most respected boating dynasties, with expertise in virtually every facet of
the market including marine sales, boat building, design and maintenance etc
